Our mission:

What is it: 

  The Edge of Hope is a community driven charity project created by knife makers. What began in 2023 as a small fundraising idea has grown into a collective effort of makers, sponsors, and supporters from around the world. Together, we’ve already raised an incredible €60,400 for Kinderlachen.de and we’re just getting started.

How It Works:

  Each year, we organize a themed makers’ project featuring 20 hand picked custom knife makers. They create unique kitchen knives following a shared set of parameters. The final pieces are showcased online and this year also live at Knife Show Austria in 2026. 100% of the proceeds go to Kinderlachen for children in need.

Why We Do It:

Because when we stand together, we can make a difference.

  As a knifemaking community, we can work side by side to create real change, turning a negative reputation into something undeniably positive. Together, we can show that knives are not just weapons or part of a bad newspaper headline, they are purpose built tools that  can be passed down from generation to generation.

  When makers, collectors, and supporters come together with the same goal, that energy becomes action. Real change happens right here, one blade, one maker, and one act of kindness at a time.
